GROWTH AND MOMENTUM IN OCTOBER

October marked a month of growth across the Decode community. We brought our perspectives to several technology conferences and created new opportunities for leaders to connect. At the California Technology Summit, we hosted a VIP roundtable on the questions shaping Shadow AI. We also convened Executive Fellows for a roundtable discussion and a community summit, bringing leaders together to share experience, compare perspectives, and look ahead.

We continued investing in the resources that make those conversations useful beyond the room. The Knowledge Center now includes expanded subcategories across our six advisory frameworks, making it easier to explore practical guidance across delivery and operating models, modernization, data and AI, cybersecurity, resilience, and governance.

These efforts reflect Decode’s continued evolution: bringing executive experience, practical guidance, and independent technology evaluation together in one growing community. On November 2, we introduce the next stage of that work: Decode Digital Works Labs, a new offering focused on structured, evidence-grounded technology evaluations.

Outlook & Predictions 2027

We introduced Decode Outlook & Predictions 2027, connecting enterprise technology change to practical executive decision-making.

Throughout the remainder of 2026, we'll gather perspectives and predictions from the community. In December, we'll publish the twelve official Decode Predictions along with the reasoning and research behind them.

During 2027, we'll revisit those predictions and track how they develop as technologies, markets, and enterprise priorities change. The community will also have an opportunity to submit predictions and explore perspectives contributed by others.

EXECUTIVE CONVERSTAIONS

Executive Briefings & Roundtables

Decode hosted two Executive Fellows events in October, bringing leaders together for focused conversation and peer exchange. These gatherings are a core part of the Decode community: a place to share experience, discuss real operating challenges, and learn from the judgment of fellow executives.

Are We Removing Too Much Human Oversight? - October 23 - Fellows discussed where human judgment remains essential as organizations automate more decisions, how to scale oversight, and how to avoid drifting into hands-off operations.

Executive Fellows Community Summit - October 28 - A gathering focused on sharing insights from across the year, strengthening cross-industry connections, and looking ahead to the community’s next strategic priorities.

Join us in November for the Executive roundtable Where Is Your Organization Too Dependent on Individuals?, a look at knowledge concentration, operational fragility, and the hidden cost of “heroes” who hold the organization together.

KEEP EXPLORING DECODE

Podcast Syndication

We looked back at Decode Digital Works’ September activity in September 2026 Recap: AI, Governance & Shadow AI. We revisited the month’s conversations and coverage on AI governance, Shadow AI, identity, executive productivity, operating models, and autonomous agents. Watch the podcast on YouTube.

We also examined the risks that can emerge when companies pursue AI-driven efficiency without preserving human oversight and institutional knowledge in The Enterprise AI Time Bomb: Are Companies Creating Future Operational Failures? The conversation explores “ghost architecture”: AI-generated workflows and systems that become part of business operations without clear documentation, ownership, or understanding. Watch the podcast on YouTube.

The podcast is now syndicated across major audio platforms, giving executives another way to follow Decode conversations and making the series available to audiences who prefer either video or audio.
